The Grasshopper

The grasshopper has very strong legs so they can jump very high and far and their main prey is centipedes. Grasshoppers have lots of predators like birds, rodents, spiders, skunks, several species of flies and horsehair worms feed on grasshoppers. Horsehair worms live inside the grasshopper and cause bad things inside females as they feed on their living host. the grasshopper lays its eggs under the ground

Before the winter cold comes the adults lay their eggs and the eggs survive and the adults die so did you now that the grasshopper lives their whole life without their parents. (unlike us humans).

Grasshoppers have 6 legs, two pairs of wings because they have four wings and small little pinches to tear off food such as grasses, leaves and big crops. Some species of grasshopper species make noises by either rubbing their back legs against the four wings or body, or by snapping their wings when flying.

They're particularly fond of cotton, clover, oats, wheat, corn, alfalfa, rye and barley, but will also consume grasses, weeds, shrubbery, leaves, bark, flowers and seeds. Some grasshoppers eat toxic plants and store the toxins in their bodies to discourage predators.
